History:

Kolb was founded by 24 families and 8 bachelors from the Hessen-Darmstadt and Isenburg on 13 May 1767 by the Government as a Lutheran colony.  There were also several families from Falkenstein, Saxony, Hanau, and Baden-Baden. It was named after its first Vorsteher (mayor) Andreas Kolb. It was also given the Russian name of Peskovatka after the river along which it was located.

Today, what remains of the colony of Kolb is known as Peskovka.
