History: 

Marienburg was officially founded in 1860 as a Roman Catholic daughter colony, but already by 1857, there were 107 families living there.

In 1869, a large number of colonists from Schönchen resettled here.

A regional school was constructed in Marienburg in 1926.

Church: 

A church was constructed in Marienburg in 1870, and in 1871 it became an independent parish.
