Jacob Eichhorn, son of Johannes Eichhorn, and Anna Catharina Stoll were married in April 1762. The Eichhorn family was from Stockbronner Hof near the German village of Neckarzimmern. The Stoll family is from nearby Adelshofen.

The Eichhorns immigrated first to Neuborm in Schleswig-Holstein (Denmark), and then joined the waves of immigrants moving to Russia.  The settled in the Volga German colony of Dönhof.
