Discussion & Documentation:

The Limpert family is documented in the Gersfeld church records back to the early 1600s. Several of the ancestral lines of Frank settlers include a connection to Limpert. In addition, two Limpert families settled in Walter. Johann Caspar Limpert was born 2 October 1725, and Johann Christoph Limpert was born 19 April 1728, both in Unterhof. They, their wives, and children travelled to Russia. Johann Casper and his wife died during the journey, and their children were adopted by Johann Christoph. One of Johann Caspar’s grandsons, Johann Christian, born 1787 in Walter relocated to Frank prior to the 1816 census.
