Johann Adam Rosenberg and his family immigrated to Russa from the German village of Niederzell. They arrived at the port of Oranienbaum from Lübeck on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of skipper Franz Nicolaus Schroeder. They settled in the Volga German colony of Nieder-Monjou on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 68.
