Johannes Schnitzer, a single man, immigrated to Russa from the German village of Steinau.  He settled in the Volga German colony of Nieder-Monjou on 3 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 49 in the appendix.  His widow an children are recorded in Nieder-Monjou on the 1798 Census in Household No. Nm48.
