Discussion & Documentation:

Johann Adam Vogel and his family were from Gelnhaar. Johann Adam and his wife, Julianna, arrived in the port at Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 along with their children: Barbara Elisabeth (age 7), Heinrich Peter (age 5), Johann Heinrich (age 3), and Johann Georg (age 1). The parents and two children (Barbara and George) arrived in Walter on 25 August 1767 and are listed there in the 1767 Census in Household No. 59. It is presumed that the other two children died in route from Oranienbaum to the Volga colonies.

Some records have this surname recorded as Fogal.
