Michael Zinnkann and his family immigrated to Russia from the German village of Vollmerz. They arrived at the port of Oranienbaum from Lübeck on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love and Unity under the command of skipper Thomas Fairfax. They settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 Census in Household No. 52. They are recorded on the 1798 Census in Orlovskaya in Household No. Or25.
