Discussion & Documentation:

Michael Alexander was born in approximately 1792, probably in France.  He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians.  He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Norka.  He is recorded there on the 1834 Census of Norka in Household No. 119.  He does not appear on the 1857 Census of Norka, so must have died before 1850.
