In the parish records of Fränkisch-Crumbach, Johannes Becker from Wersau (4 kilometers north of Fränkisch-Crumbach, and his wife (née Eidemüller) are included in a list of immigrants.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 20 July 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 34. The entry for Household No. 14 indicates that Johann Witt is also living with them.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Becker came from the German village of Werthe in the Darmstadt region.
