Georg Berg, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 28 March 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33.
In 1788, Georg Berg and his family moved from Balzer to Stahl am Tarlyk.
