Philipp Billeau and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Susannental on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 2 along with a new wife and her daughter.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Billeau was a stonemason while the 1767 census records that he was a tailor (Schneider).

The 1767 census records that Philipp Andreas Billeau came from the German village of Obertiefenbach.
