Bonifazius Bleier, a farmer, his wife Marianna, and children (Margaretha, age 9; Konrad, age 5; Johann, age 1) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 35 along with a note that they relocated to the Volga German colony of Wittmann in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Bonifazius Bleier came from the German village of Lauben.
