Johann Bonecker, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Seelender.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.

The 1767 census records that Johann Bonecker came from the German village of Pulheim in the region of Darmstadt.
