Peter Delwa, a farmer, and his family settled in the Vogla German colony of Louis on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14.

In 1797, Johann Delwa and his family moved from Graf to Louis. In 1788, Nikolaus Delwa and his family moved from Louis to Mariental.

The 1798 census of Rohleder records that Peter Delwa and his sister Maria Elisabeth from Louis is working in Mariental.

The 1767 census records that Peter Delwa came from the German village of Heimerdingen in the region of Lothringen.
