Georg Dittenbier and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Wiebe Heinrichson.
Georg and his wife died during the journey to the Volga region. Their children, Jacob (age 13) and Anna Margaretha (age 10) settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus on 26 June 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 50 along with the family of Wilhelm Kloss.
The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Tanhalzen near Braunfels.
