Karl Dubs, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Reinwald on 14 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 36.

The 1798 census of Rosenheim records Johannes Dubs in Household No. Rm09 and Adam Dubs in Household No. 16.

The 1767 census records that Karl Dubs came from the German village of Heilbronn.
