Discussion & Documentation:

Christian Esterob, a single farmer from Danzig, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauer.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 74.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Esterob was a farmer from Danzig while the 1767 census records that he was a barrel maker (Fassbinder) from the Danish village of Estrup.
