Georg Fritz, a farmer, his wife, and his sister-in-law (wife's sister) settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 44.

The 1767 census records that Georg Fritz was from the German village of Eppstein in the Kurmainz region.
