Paul Göhring, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and daughters (Anna Margaretha, age 7; Juliana Katharina, age 6; Anna Elisabeth, age 2) settled in the Volga German colony of Kautz on 21 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18 along with stepdaughters (Maria Elisabeth, age 13; Anna Elisabeth, age 11) [surname not recorded].

In 1794, Daniel Göhring moved from Dietel to Bauer.

The 1767 census records that the Göhring family came from the German village of Hassloch.
