Johann Jakob Grasmück came from the village of Rohrbach near Büdingen. He arrived in Balzer on 18 June 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 78.

In 1788, widower Georg Grasmück moved from Balzer to Lauwe. In 1794, Christoph Grasmück moved from Balzer to Lauwe.
