Michael Holmann, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Volmer on 18 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 8.

In 1824, Joseph Hollmann relocated from Volmer to Schuck.

The 1767 census records that Michael Holmann came from the German district of Heilbronn.
