Johann Valentin Kaiser, a farmer, hiw wife Anna Barbara, and children (Johann, age 8; Katharina, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 August 1766 aboard the Apollo under the command of Skipper Detlov Merberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 46. The 1775 census of Grimm records this family in Household No. 45.
The 1798 census of Bauer records the widow of Johann Michael Kaiser from Grimm and his children in Household No. Br08.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Valentin Kaiser came from the German region of Darmstadt.
