Kniss (Yagodnaya Polyana)
Konrad Kniss and his brother Nikolaus arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Yagodnaya Polyana on 16 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 censsu in Household No. 43.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that both Konrad and Nikolaus were innkeepers while the 1767 census records that they are farmers.
The 1767 census records that the Kniss brothers came from the German village of Sinrot in the region of Darmstadt.
