Karl Maul (age 20) and his brother Georg (age 7) settled in the Volga German colony of Norka. They are recorded there on the 1767 census: Karl in Household No. 6 with the Konrad Weigandt family and Georg in Household No. 8 with the Johannes Hamburger family.
