Discussion & Documentation:

Michael Mehlberger, a farmer, and his wife Charlotta Sophia settled in the Volga German colony of Degott on 18 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4.

In 1795, widow Barbara Elisabeth Mehlberger and her children moved from Degott to Bauer.

The 1767 census records that Michael Mehlberger came from the German village of Salse in Lothringen (Plehve identifies this village as Sculcet dr. Allier).
