Michael Mehrlein, a farmer, and his wife Barbara arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Heinrich Sager.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Hölzel
In 1788, Michael Mehrlein and his family moved from Neu-Kolonie to Hölzel.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Michael Mehrlein came from the German region of Bamberg.
