Discussion & Documentation:

Julius Meisterling and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) in 1762. They deserted the colony there in June 1763 and joined the migration to Russia.

The parents did not survive the journey, but several of their children settled in the Volga German colony of Messer. Son Christoph is recorded in Messer on the 1767 census in Household No. 17 and daughter Maria Magdalena is recorded in Household No. 20.

The 1767 census records that the Meisterling family came from the German region of the Kurpfalz.
