Johannes Mohn, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 18 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 32.

In 1792, Johann Jakob Mohn moved from Moor to Balzer.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Mohn came from the German district of Isenburg.
