There are two Mounie families that settled in the Volga German colony of Franzosen. The 1767 census does not record their relationship to each other.
(1) François Mounie (age 25), a farmer, and his wife Rosina Müller settled in Franzosen on 26 August 1766. They are recorded on the 1767 census of Franzosen in Household No. 57. The 1767 census records that François Mounie came from the village of Are in France.
(2) Orphan Maria Angelika Mounie (age 12) is recorded on the 1767 census of Franzosen in Household No. 5 where she is living with her mother's parents, Casimir & Maria Louise Certele.
