Franz Obisker, a boilermaker (Kesselschmied), and his wife Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann and are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 57. The 1767 census records that Franz Obisker came from the German village of Branik in Böhmen (Bohemia).
