Rudolph Ritter and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Seelender.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.

The Oranienabaum passenger list records that Rudolph Ritter was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a tile maker (Fleisenleger).

The 1767 census records that Rudolph Ritter is from the German village of Unteralba in the Fulda area.
