Georg Peter Roth (age 16) and his sister Anna Margaretha (age 14) settled in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 20 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15 along with their mother and stepfather, Franz Heinrich Esler.
The 1767 census records that the Roth family came from the German village of Schürfeld in the Kurpfalz region.
