Johann Wolf Schamber, a miller (Müller), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 30. In 1786, Johann Wolf Schamber and his family moved from Beauregard to Grimm.

In 1795, widow Maria Eva Schamber and her children moved from Degott to Schuck.

The 1767 census records that Johann Wolf Schamber came from the German region of Wambach.
