Johannes Georg Schremser was born in Schriesheim on 25 February 1732.  He immigrated to Schleswig-Holstein (today in Denmark) where on 17 April 1760 in Altona he married Anna Christina Stay. They are last recorded in the Danish colonies on 26 April 1763. They joined the migration to Russia.

Georg Schremser, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 1 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14.

Both the records of Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) and the 1767 census record that Georg Schremser came from the German region of Kurpfalz.
