Discussion & Documentation:

Johann Zimmer, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

The surviving daughter of this family settled in the Volga German colony of Yagodnaya Polyana on 16 September 1767. She is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 77 along with the Konrad Bähr family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Bähr and Zimmer families.

The 1767 census records that Anna Margaretha Zimmer came from the German village of Nidda in the Darmstadt region.
